Thanks to an impressive level of grassroots advocacy from C4L members nationwide, Ron Paul's Audit the Fed continues to pick up cosponsors in both the House and Senate.
The House bill, H.R. 24, currently has 117 cosponsors, while the Senate bill, S. 209, picked up three since its introduction this week, including a high-profile cosponsor - Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell - bringing the Senate version to 21 cosponsors.
Campaign for Liberty President John Tate said, "The tireless efforts of our members is paying dividends. After 4 years of countless phone calls, letters, emails, and faxes, Congressional leadership is realizing what the American people already know: The time to Audit the Fed is now!" He continued, "While Audit the Fed is a bipartisan issue, we're happy to have the Senate Minority Leader and Whip cosponsoring this legislation in the Senate."
Despite Senator Harry Reid claiming as recently as 2010 that he supports Audit the Fed, he has thus far refused to bring the issue to the floor for a vote.
Let's keep the momentum going! Place a call and email your representative and senators urging them to cosponsor H.R. 24 and S. 209, respectively.
