SPRINGFIELD, Virginia- Today, Campaign for Liberty issued the following statement from C4L President John Tate strongly opposing using the “USA Freedom Act” to extend key provisions of the Patriot Act until 2017.
“Campaign for Liberty is strongly opposed to extending key provisions of the most egregious violation of Americans' civil liberties this century- the Patriot Act,” said John Tate.
“The American people have a constitutionally protected right to privacy from intrusive government, and it is long past time to end the unconstitutional programs that greatly infringe on our lives while actually damaging our national security.
"I urge Campaign for Liberty members to tell their senators to stand with Senator Rand Paul against extending the Patriot Act by voting no on the USA Freedom Act if these extensions remain intact."
