SPRINGFIELD, Virginia- This evening, Campaign for Liberty released the following statement from John Tate in response to President Obama’s State of the Union address:
“Tonight, President Obama promised more debt, more reckless spending, and more pain for the American people. With a $16 Trillion – and rising – national debt, President Obama prescribed nothing tonight that would seriously address our nation’s addiction to spending- even though continued failure to reign in federal spending will have disastrous consequences for our economy and the hopes and dreams of our children.
“Also disappointing, although not surprising, was President Obama’s failure to mention the Federal Reserve, an institution which not only was a driving force behind the current economic crisis, but that nearly 75 percent of Americans support thoroughly auditing.
“President Obama and Harry Reid want to keep the American people in the dark about how the Federal Reserve is financing their big spending programs and destroying our money and our economy. Campaign for Liberty is fully committed to winning this battle and will continue to demand Harry Reid and President Obama allow Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed bill a vote in the Senate.”
