In the latest from Politico Magazine, former-Transportation Security Officer Jason Harrington writes an incriminating expose of the Transportation Security Administration.
The article is aptly titled, "Dear America, I Saw You Naked. And yes, we were laughing."
Some highlights below:
"It was a job that had me patting down the crotches of children, the elderly and even infants as part of the post-9/11 airport security show."
...."In private, most TSA officers I talked to told me they felt the agency’s day-to-day operations represented an abuse of public trust and funds."
...."We knew the full-body scanners didn’t work before they were even installed."
"Just as the long-suffering American public waiting on those security lines suspected, jokes about the passengers ran rampant among my TSA colleagues..."
...."A fellow officer once returned to O’Hare from a trip to TSA headquarters and confessed that he had run into some complications: Someone realized that his background check had never been processed in the four years he had been an employee."
One thing I left out of that Politico piece: HELL YES airport employees often drink those bottles of alcohol you surrender at the checkpoint

It's for these very reasons that since the TSA's new procedures of scanning and groping passengers were implemented in late-2010, Campaign for Liberty has been calling for an end to the TSA!
In 2012, Campaign for Liberty's efforts made headlines working with Senator Rand Paul on creating legislation to privatize the TSA.
This year, we plan on giving it another go. Articles like Mr. Harrington's will make it easier to plead our case to politicians and the American people for why the TSA should be abolished once and for all.
