Sarah Murnaghan recently celebrated her twelfth birthday. For those who do not remember, Sarah is the girl who almost died last year because of federal regulations prohibiting children from receiving adult organs. Fortunately for Sarah, a federal judge "stayed" the federal rule allowing her to receive a transplant.
While Sarah's story has a happy ending, her case illustrates why the federal goverment needs to get out of the business of deciding who can and cannot get an organ transplant. The government also needs to get out of all other aspects of health care.
