SPRINGFIELD, Virginia- Campaign for Liberty released the following statement from C4L President John Tate celebrating the passage of Representative Thomas Massie’s (R-KY) amendment to the House Defense Appropriations Act (H.R. 2397) by voice vote blocking unauthorized military aid to Egypt:
“Today, the House of Representatives voted to end sending unauthorized US tax dollars to fund military operations in Egypt. Besides such a foreign policy being the very definition of insanity, the United States is broke. We can no longer afford, financially or morally, to prop up dictators, military rulers, and most outrageously, Al-Qaeda sympathizers. It is time for this madness to end, and I urge the Senate to quickly follow suit.”
