WHO WE ARE GET INVOLVED CANDIDATE SURVEYS ON THE ISSUES ABOUT AUDIT THE FED

End Fed-Ed

Petition to My Representative

Whereas: Congress created the federal Department of Education in 1979;

Whereas: In the 38 years since the department’s creation, federal funding on K-12 education has increased by approximately 120%, yet the American education system has continued to decline; and

Whereas: The vast majority of federal dollars received by states is not used for education, but rather, to pay for the rules, regulations, and bureaucracy created by the federal Department of Education; and

Whereas: The United States Constitution does not give the federal government authority over K-12 education; and

Whereas: The Department uses federal funds to bribe local school districts to obey federal mandates, even if those mandates conflict with the desires of parents and/or the needs of schoolchildren; and

Whereas: Washington, DC-based politicians and bureaucrats are incapable of designing an education system able to meet the unique needs of individual schoolchildren; and

Whereas: The administrations of both parties have tried and failed to improve education via reforms such as No Child Left Behind and Common Core.

Therefore, I urge you to cosponsor Representative Thomas Massie’s H.R. 899, which shutters the Department of Education, thus retuning control over the classroom to local school boards, teachers, and, most of all, parents.

I further urge you to work with House Leadership to bring H.R. 899 to the House floor for a roll-call vote.
