Florida Resident Petition

Concerning Preservation of the Second Amendment and the State of Florida’s

Power under Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution and the 10th Amendment

Whereas, we the People have a natural and unalienable right to keep and bear arms, and

Whereas, this right is affirmed in Article 1, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution, and in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution, which specifically states that the United States government shall not infringe on this right; and

Whereas, the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution affirms that all powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people; and

Whereas, the Florida Second Amendment Preservation Act prevents federal government intrusion as it concerns Second Amendment rights and provides penalties for infractions.

Therefore, Be It Resolved, by my signature below as a Florida Resident, that any current or future federal act, law, treaty, executive order, rule, or regulation for regulating firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition manufactured in the State of FLorida for sale in the State of Florida is null, void, and unenforceable within the State of Florida; and

Be It Further Resolved, by my signature below as a Florida Resident, that when the United States government oversteps its enumerated constitutional limitations it is engaging in tyranny; and

Be It Further Resolved, by my signature below as a Florida Resident, that when such tyranny occurs it is the duty of the States and the People to resist federal encroachment by restoring and exercising their sovereign authority; and

Now, Be It Finally Resolved, by my signature below as a Florida Resident, that I support passage of the Florida Second Amendment Preservation Act and call on the Governor of the State of Florida, and all other constitutionally elected representatives of this State to honor their oath of office by supporting this Act.
