Keep Dangerous No-knock Warrants Illegal in Georgia!

Dear Friend of Liberty,

Georgia’s laws are under attack.

If passed, Senate Bill 45, Senate Bill 159, and House Bill 56 will legalize dangerous no-knock warrants that have led to police officers, grandparents, and even babies in Georgia being maimed or killed.

No-knock warrants have been forbidden in our society since 1604, and for good reason!

That’s why I hope you will sign this petition IMMEDIATELY telling your state legislature to keep Georgia’s police officers and citizens safe by voting NO on S.B. 45, S.B. 159, and H.B. 56.

After signing your petition, please chip in a contribution to Georgia Campaign for Liberty to help us keep no-knock warrants illegal in Georgia!

Petition to Stop No-knock Warrants

To: Your State Representative, State Senator, and the Governor

WHEREAS: The dangerous and barbaric practice of “no-knock” warrants was ended in 1604 by Sir Edward Coke; and

WHEREAS: U.S. citizens are considered innocent until proven guilty and are entitled to due process of law; and

WHEREAS: No-knock warrants often end in violence with many instances of citizens being maimed or killed; and

WHEREAS: The violent nature of no-knock warrants often leads to law enforcement officers being maimed or killed; and

WHEREAS: Georgia law plainly states that, when using force to execute a search warrant, law enforcement is required to use verbal notice before entering an individual’s home (O.C.G.A. § 17-5-27); and

WHEREAS: Neither Federal law nor Federal/State case law supersedes the illegality of no-knock warrants in Georgia due to the clear language of O.C.G.A. § 17-5-27. No-knocks have never been a legal option in Georgia; and

WHEREAS: To date, all no-knock warrants in Georgia are the result of judicial activism and law enforcement ignoring Georgia law.

THEREFORE: I insist that you vote NO on any bill that would legalize dangerous no-knock warrants in Georgia.
