Dear Georgia Citizen,
Instead of investing their own money in renovating Turner Field or buying it from the City of Atlanta, the Atlanta Braves are skipping out on one taxpayer-subsidized stadium to move to another taxpayer-subsidized stadium in the suburbs!
The new stadium is a blatant shakedown of Cobb County’s taxpayers and visitors to line the pockets of a consortium of sports millionaires.
If you think enough is enough, sign your "No Bailouts for Sports Millionaires" petition today!

NO BAILOUTS FOR SPORTS MILLIONAIRES!
WHEREAS: The Atlanta Braves is a privately owned major league baseball franchise valued at $629 million; and WHEREAS: The Atlanta Braves have conspired with the government of Cobb County to build a new taxpayer-funded stadium in Cobb County; and WHEREAS: Raising taxes on Cobb County citizens and visitors to pay for a new taxpayer-subsidized ballpark constitutes corporate welfare. THEREFORE: We the citizens of Georgia DEMAND that no taxpayer money be used to subsidize privately owned sports franchises. |
