Dear Newton County Supporter,
In February, Sheriff Ezell Brown presented a Firearm Discharge Ordinance to the Newton County Board of Commissioners during their retreat. This bill places new restrictions on when, where, and how Newton citizens are allowed to use their firearms. On Tuesday, May 21, the Board of Commissioners voted to pass the new ordinance. This ordinance is at best, ineffective and at worst, unconstitutional.
