Petition to Enact the Virginia Constitutional Carry Bill
To my State Legislators and the Governor of Virginia

Whereas: The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution clearly states that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; and

Whereas: This inalienable, individual right clearly includes the right of all law-abiding citizens to purchase and carry a gun for self-defense; and

Whereas: Requiring law-abiding citizens to ask government permission through the permit system before they can exercise their constitutional right to bear arms is a clear violation of that right; and

Whereas: Real-life experience and extensive research both clearly demonstrate that restricting the right to bear arms in self-defense only encourages violent crime; and

Whereas: Constitutional Carry would allow every law-abiding Virginia citizen the freedom to carry a gun to protect themselves and their families without needless delays and fees.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, to protect liberty and the right of individuals to defend themselves and their families, we urge you to eliminate all fees and penalties on Virginia citizens, who are simply exercising their Second Amendment rights, and both cosponsor and seek roll call votes on the Virginia Constitutional Carry bill.

Be it further resolved that we, the undersigned, demand a continuation of our concealed carry permitting system, which will allow reciprocity for those wanting to comply with other states' concealed carry laws.
