Earlier today the Supreme Court rendered its decision in King v. Burwell. The plaintiffs argued that the part of Obamcare which limited health insurance subsidies to health insurance purchased in an "exchange established by the State" meant that subsidies provided to individuals purchasing insurance from a federal exchange were illegal.
The court sided 6-3 with the Obama administration, with Chief Justice John Roberts writing the majority opinion. Justice Scalia wrote a very scathing dissent saying in part, "words no longer have meaning if an Exchange that is not established by a State is 'established by the State.'"
While many conservative groups had hoped this case would be an avenue to end Obamacare, that door is now shut. Campaign for Liberty believes that individuals, not government, are best able to make health care decisions for themselves.
