Thanks Senator Graham. We've been in Afghanistan more than ten years, but no worries. Riots and massacres "just happen."
The reported massacre of about 16 Afghan civilians by a U.S. soldier from a base near Kandahar, while tragic, is no reason to doubt the viability of the U.S. mission there, Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday.
"While this is tragic and will be investigated that soldier will be held accountable for his actions under the military justice system, unfortunately these things happen in war," Graham said on ABC's "This Week." "You just have to push through these things."
Yes, "these things" do happen in war. Which is a good reason to not fight wars which are unnecessary, wasteful, and counterproductive.
Ten years after ousting al-Qaeda and the Taliban, just what are we doing in Afghanistan? Instead of pushing "through these things," we should be getting our troops out of harm's way and taking them home!
