The NDAA Conference Report passed the Senate by a vote of 86-13 this evening, with detainee provisions intact.
It should be noted here that 6 additional senators voted NO than when S. 1867 was previously voted on and passed 93-7 on December 1.
This is by no means the end of this fight. Several senators promised to introduce legislation called the "Due Process Guarantee Act of 2011" to resolve the detainee issue in the NDAA. When we have more details on the proposed legislation, C4L will be the first to let you know about it.
Take this roll call and remember those 86 names. These senators voted to tear up your sacred rights to due process as American citizens, on the anniversary of the passage of the Bill of Rights no less.
As one commentor mentioned earlier, these senators actions should be seen as a "shot across the bow" of our ship of state. It should serve as a wake up call. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance, and today was a stark reminder of that timeless truism.
