Earlier this afternoon, Senator Paul took to the floor to urge the Senate to pass his amendment to the FDA User Fees Bill. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDXd5BciFHE
Unfortunately, the Senate later killed his amendment by a vote of 78-15. In other words, the Senate believes it's fine to place prior restraint on free speech, for the militarized FDA to carry out armed raids on American citizens, and for people to be convicted of crimes they had no idea they were committing.
One sound action the Senate did take today was to vote down the Durbin amendment which would have restricted access to dietary supplements by making manufacturers jump through unnecessary bureaucratic hoops. It failed by a vote of 77-20.
