The next great threat to Americans' privacy has now emerged in a new so-called "cybersecurity" bill. H.R. 3523, the "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011" or CISPA, is set to see floor action next week in the House of Representatives.
I'd encourage everyone to contact their representative immediately at 202-224-3121 and urge them to vote NO on H.R. 3523 and any similar legislation when it comes up for a vote.
CISPA, and other similar "cybersecurity" legislation, is being rushed through the legislative process, overriding longstanding privacy laws and without consideration for how the vast "information sharing" process between private corporations and government agencies would affect citizens' privacy online.
Stay tuned for more information on this bill and be sure to tell your friends and family to contact their representatives to demand they oppose H.R. 3523, the "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011."
