WHO WE ARE GET INVOLVED CANDIDATE SURVEYS ON THE ISSUES ABOUT AUDIT THE FED

ACTION ALERT: That's Classified

In a few hours, the House of Representatives will vote on the conference report for the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Like in years past, this year’s NDAA is a disaster for liberty. . .

At a time when the federal deficit is rapidly approaching $1 trillion, the NDAA makes no attempt to cut our bloated military budget.

Instead it authorizes spending over $700 billion on unnecessary and unconstitutional military interventions around the world.

And it fails to do anything to stop the indefinite detention and torture of American citizens without any semblance of due process.

Congress is trying to increase the “defense” budget even on the heels of an explosive exposé published this week about the waste in the Afghanistan war and how U.S. officials at all levels routinely lied to the media and the American people about the progress -- even when they knew the war was unwinnable.

It has been estimated that over 2 TRILLION dollars has been spent in Afghanistan since 2001, and approximately 2,400 American troops have lost their lives.

And Congress wants to give out even more money for forays around the world that have nothing to do with the defense of our country.

This year’s NDAA also contains a new threat that would make it impossible for us to learn the truths the government wants to keep secret.

I’ll explain more below, but first I’m asking you to please call your U.S. Representative at 202-224-3121 and tell them to oppose the 2020 NDAA Conference Report!

The vote is expected today so please call soon.

And, of course, forward this link to your friends and family and post it on social media.

Now let me explain the new threat to liberty. . .

Currently, it is a crime to reveal the identity of a covert agent, identified as someone whose relationship with the U.S. intelligence community is classified and who resides outside the United States or has done so within the past five years.

The NDAA removes the second part of the definition, so the only thing an intelligence agency needs assert to silence whistleblowers and stop you from learning the truth is that the whistleblower has a “classified” relationship with a United States intelligence agency (and there are at least 17 separate agencies we are aware of).

This means someone who has knowledge about illegal activities in our government cannot report them and expose the truth.

Of course, someone could challenge the “classified” status in court, but good luck because the government will claim to even allow a judge to review the “evidence” justifying the classification would violate national security.

In any case, we cannot rely on the same federal courts that have upheld such unconstitutional monstrosities as ObamaCare to protect our rights!

IT’S UP TO US!

So please call your representative at 202-224-3121 and tell them to oppose the NDAA Conference Report!

If these provisions become law, the net of secrecy cast by the government will be stretched further and wider than it is today.

Please don’t let this latest stealth attack on our First Amendment right to know about the government and its actions succeed.

Call your representative at 202-224-3121 NOW and tell them to oppose the NDAA Conference Report!

And make sure you let your pro-liberty family and friends know about this by forwarding this link and posting it on social media.

Some will say that we are exaggerating the effects of this provision, but these are the same people who said Campaign for Liberty Chairman Ron Paul was exaggerating in 2001 when he warned the PATRIOT Act would lead to the type of mass surveillance exposed by Edward Snowden in 2013.

If these provisions pass, it will be much easier for government to silence the next Snowden and imprison anyone who dares help them expose the government’s lies.

Just two days ago, we saw an example of why stopping this provision was so necessary when The Washington Post published The Afghanistan Papers.

So please call your representative at 202-224-3121 and tell them to just say “NO” to the 2020 NDAA Conference Report.

And please forward this link to your friends and family and post it on social media.

The vote is in a few hours so act NOW.
