At the end of July, Senator Jim DeMint's camp contacted me to ask if I would be interested in engaging the senator in a Q&A or reviewing his new book, The Great American Awakening. Obviously, I was surprised and honored the senator's team would reach out to me and I immediately accepted the request for both. The senator's publicist sent me the book and asked that I send over some questions after reading it.
After spending an entire Saturday afternoon reading the book...and you guys know how important a Saturday afternoon is after a full week of work...I had lots of questions for Sen. DeMint. I limited myself to five out of respect for his time and sent them along. I guess the senator wasn't feeling my questions because the only response I received from that point on was a lot of stalling and, ultimately, a decline to answer.
Regardless of Sen. DeMint's back out, I have posted the review AND the questions (even if he didn't think they deserved responding to). If, after reading it, you would like to hear DeMint's response, feel free to tweet him (@JimDemint) and ask why he backed out.
