Campaign for Liberty Chairman Ron Paul issued the following statement in support of H.Res. 1175, legislation upholding the First Amendment by calling for an end to the prosecution of Julian Assange:
“As I wrote in a recent column regarding the Assange case ‘… the idea that journalists who do their job and expose criminality in high places are treated like traitors is deeply dangerous in a free society.’ This is why all those who cherish free speech should support Representatives Thomas Massie and Tulsi Gabbard’s H.Res. 1175.
“This resolution would uphold Congress’ duty to protect free speech and calls for an end to the prosecution of Julian Assange. Campaign for Liberty is proud to join with Representatives Massie and Gabbard in standing up for the First Amendment and the people’s right to know the truth about the crimes of their government and the political class.”
