Ron Paul on Withdrawal of David Chipman's Nomination

Campaign for Liberty Chairman Ron Paul issued the following statement regarding President Biden’s withdrawal of the nomination of professional gun control advocate David Chipman to head the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms:

“President Biden’s withdrawal of former Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) Agent and professional anti-Second Amendment advocate David Chipman is a victory for every Campaign for Liberty member who let their Senators know a vote for Chipman was a vote against the inalienable right to keep and bear arms.  This is another example of why I am grateful for Campaign for Liberty activists' tireless defense of the Bill of Rights.

“While we celebrate today’s victory, we must be prepared for President Biden to nominate someone with the same anti-Second Amendment views as Chipman, but without the same history of aggressive advocacy for gun control. We must also continue to oppose all of the Biden administration’s gun control agenda.”
