You know what they say - big things come in little packages. Just ask Andy Smith, Grace Smith's dad. If you have been following Wyoming news, you may have heard of Grace Smith, the 16-year-old Laramie High School student who was arrested in October for refusing to obey a school mask mandate. Citing the fact that the school's mask mandate is a violation of the Wyoming Constitution and violates her civil liberties, Grace has done at age 16 what very few have experienced in a lifetime. She has endured multiple school suspensions, received two $500 citations for trespassing, and was arrested for the simple "crime" of attending her high school classes without a mask. Grace Smith and her father, Andy, have joined a lawsuit to sue Governor Gordon, Wyoming State Health Officer Alexia Harrist, the Wyoming Department of Health, as well as numerous Wyoming school districts. On Thursday, December 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Grace and her father will join us at our Natrona County Campaign for Liberty meeting. We will gather at the Holiday Inn East, 721 Granite Peak Drive in Casper to hear Grace share her courageous battle to defend individual liberty! Meeting Details: Date: Thursday, December 2, 2021 You can watch Grace’s arrest here. It is an inspiration to hear this bold story of non-compliance lived out by such a young patriot shared on national media. But it will be even better to join us and listen to Grace's story in person! Benjamin Franklin once said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Grace offers that quote in defense of her actions . . . I would agree with both Franklin and Grace Smith. Please feel free to invite your family and friends -- YOUNG and old! For liberty, Cathy Ide |
