SPRINGFIELD, Virginia- Today, Campaign for Liberty released the following statement from C4L President John Tate in response to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s attacks on efforts to conduct a full audit of the Federal Reserve:
“As Ben Bernanke continues the Fed’s unprecedented intervention in the economy behind a veil of secrecy, it is shameful, but not unexpected, that he would attack the motives of those calling for more Fed transparency. Contrary to what political-appointee Ben Bernanke might believe, efforts to conduct a full audit of the Federal Reserve are not politically driven, but are grassroots-driven by the over 70 percent of Americans who support demanding accountability from the Fed. It is way past time for a full audit of the Federal Reserve so the American people can find out what the Fed is doing both to our dollars and our economy.”
