SPRINGFIELD, Virginia- Today, Campaign for Liberty released the following statement from C4L President John Tate in response to President Obama issuing twenty-three executive orders concerning gun control:
“President Obama’s willingness to completely usurp Congressional authority at the stroke of a pen and threaten the rights of Americans to keep their medical records out of the hands of a nosy government should be of concern to all supporters of limited government and individual liberty. Furthermore, it is unclear how any of these sweeping proposals would have done anything at all to prevent the tragedy at Sandy Hook. Making it more difficult for law-abiding, responsible citizens to protect themselves and their families does nothing to prevent those seeking to commit evil from acting. I urge Congress to take action to overturn these, and any other executive orders that infringe on American liberties. Legislators can be assured that Campaign for Liberty members will make their voices heard on these issues and hold politicians who take away our freedoms accountable for their actions.”
