It's time to light up the Capitol Hill Switchboard, folks.
Late last night, the House Rules Committee approved amendments from Reps. Justin Amash and Thomas Massie regarding the NSA's domestic spying program and preventing the flow of military and paramilitary aid to Egypt.
This was a huge victory for the grassroots, as for two weeks, it seemed like House leadership was intent on crafting a rule to prevent a vote on these amendments.
Well, tomorrow we'll have our votes, and now it's time to take action and make sure they get all the support they should from members of Congress.
Call Congress today at 202-224-3121 and ask to speak with your representative. Urge them (politely) to support Rep. Amash's amendment #101 to prevent the blanket surveillance of U.S. citizens by the NSA under Section 215 of the so-called "Patriot" Act. Then be sure to ask them to support Rep. Thomas Massie's amendment #105 to prevent the flow of military and paramilitary aid to the military junta in Egypt.
