You are paying the health insurance bills for 97% of Obama’s “newly insured.”
And if some Kansas legislators get their way, you’ll be paying for even more.
ObamaCare stooges swore their scheme would bring prices down, since “everyone would have to pay something in.”
But only 3% of the “newly insured” are actually paying into this boondoggle.
According to Heritage Foundation, 97% of last year’s “newly insured” citizens are on ObamaCare’s expanded Medicaid scheme.
As is usually the case, bureaucrats grossly underestimated the number of people that would apply for Medicaid in states that expanded their programs under ObamaCare.
In fact, in some states, the number of enrollees was almost three times what was expected.
Yet some legislators are STILL trying to push ObamaCare expansion on Kansas citizens.
ObamaCare attempts to lure states into expanding their Medicaid programs by promising to pay certain associated costs for a couple of years.
But Kansas will be expected to spend millions in administrative expenses from the moment the state expands the program.
And soon, the federal government will reduce the reimbursement rate significantly, leaving Kansas with the obligation to dole out an even greater portion of the tab.
ObamaCare expansion supporters keep trying to sell you a false bill of goods.
They claim NOT expanding “leaves Kansas money” on the table. They say Kansas Medicaid dollars are being spent in other states.
But according to the Congressional Research Service, that’s a lie. They found:
“If a state doesn’t implement the ACA Medicaid expansion, the federal funds that would have been used for that state’s expansion are not being sent to another state.”
Expanding Medicaid entitlements is just plain wrong for Kansas.
States that have opted to expand their Medicaid programs under ObamaCare went millions of dollars – and in some cases billions of dollars – over budget last year.
In Ohio, the Kasich Administration had to take funds from their pre-expansion program that covers the truly needy - such as elderly and disabled people – and used those funds for the optional expansion that covers ABLE-BODIED individuals!
That can’t be allowed to happen here.
So just why are some legislators refusing to take NO for an answer and pushing this budget-busting scheme?
The truth is, they’re so determined to get their hands on all those “free” federal millions, they’re willing to ignore the fact that ObamaCare expansion will severely increase the costs paid by Kansas taxpayers.
This destructive scheme will cause irreparable harm to Kansas health care and taxpayers like you and me.
You’ll be forced to jump through President Obama’s hoops and health care will be rationed – everything will be doled out by Obama’s bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.
But with enough grassroots pressure, we just may be able to end this irresponsible pursuit of ObamaCare expansion.
