SPRINGFIELD, Virginia- Campaign for Liberty released the following statement from C4L President John Tate today urging the Senate to vote "No" on Janet Yellen’s nomination to be the next Chair of the Federal Reserve, unless there is a vote on 'Audit the Fed' (S.209):
“Nearly 75 percent of the American people want to audit the Federal Reserve, yet Harry Reid refuses to allow a vote on this popular, bipartisan legislation,” said Campaign for Liberty President John Tate.
“What are the Fed and its allies so afraid of? Defenders of the surveillance state constantly tell us, ‘You have nothing to fear, if you have nothing to hide,’ yet the American people have been continuously denied necessary transparency concerning operations that deeply impact their lives. If confirmed, Janet Yellen will continue to inflate our currency and bail out Wall Street, while at the same time demanding these actions be kept secret from the American people.
“If a vote on Audit the Fed is not held first, Campaign for Liberty will treat a ‘yes’ vote to approve Janet Yellen’s nomination as a vote against ‘Audit the Fed.’”
